Every day we have to choose what we do with our time and energy. We decide on logistics and prioritise our commitments. But are you doing what you love? Are you too busy to fuel your passion? Or have you forgotten what you are even passionate about? Are you so stuck in a routine that you have stopped questioning WHY you are doing it?

In order to discover (or re-discover) your passion and find your purpose, you need to have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They already know what you want!

Your intuition speaks to you in subtle ways, and sometimes we are too busy to notice, or feel obligated to do otherwise.  Most people can understand intuition as a ‘gut feeling’.

To find your ‘why’ and awaken your sense of self and what you enjoy, it is important that you make the time to do some soul-searching. This will help you blossom emotionally, socially and mentally to get a better understanding of who you are! Often, this requires you to remove yourself from your routine and your familiar everyday environment. A good way to do this is with a daily yoga and meditation practice or even simply finding a quiet, open space to reflect and ask yourself:

-What inspires you?

-What sparks your spirit?

-What are your dreams?

-What are your goals?

-What are you good at?

-What do you wish you were good at?

-What is on your bucket list? (Surfing in Bali? Travelling and immersing yourself in a foreign culture?)

-When do you feel most happy?

-What do you miss doing?

-What would you do for the rest of your life if money didn’t matter?

If you are struggling to answer these questions, that’s okay! You may be at crossroads in your life where you are still trying to figure out who you are and who you want to be. If this is the case, you need to spend more time re-connecting with yourself in solitude.

Unfortunately, with our increasingly busy lives and the pressures to fit more into our days, it can seem as though there isn’t any time for solitude, let alone a hobby! And with modern advancements, we are now constantly reachable and available to everyone. We have become so used to being on the go, that when the opportunity presents itself, we don’t know what to do with our free time. A lot of us have lost our passion and feel guilty about ‘doing nothing’ or not using their time productively.

But finding solitude is so important. It creates a space for us to reflect on our needs and is an opportunity for us to replenish our minds

This is why it is best to escape (temporarily) to get the space you require to re-evaluate your priorities. Solo-travel is one of the best ways to discover your passions. It is completely self-indulgent, which is just what you need! Having the freedom to do what you want, when you want, without considering anyone else, reveals your priorities very quickly! Travelling by yourself is extremely empowering, for the confidence and independence it brings. If the thought of travelling alone seems daunting to you, especially if it’s your first time, booking a retreat is a safe way to explore and meet amazing like-minded people!

Goddess Retreats in Bali is a women’s-only sanctuary where Solo Travellers come together for a week of pure bliss that has customised activities so you can holiday your way!

But, if travel isn’t on the cards for you right now, you can also try to narrow it down by figuring out what you prefer:

-Shopping Online/Shopping In-Store

-Being Alone/Being Social

-Paris/ Hawaii

-No wifi/No car

You can also try to start writing down your thoughts, spending more time in nature and going for walks to clear your mind and give you clarity.
